Time Spent Studying at Home on Weekdays (Elementary, Junior and Senior High School Students)
When asked about time spent studying at home on weekdays (including cram schools), the rate of those who answered "almost never" or "around 30 minutes" is increasing. If we compare 1990 and 2001, the figures are up from 28.5% to 40.3% for elementary, up from 18.8% to 30.7% for junior high and up from 26.0% to 37.1% for senior high school students, an over 10% increase in each school level. In contrast, the rate of those who answered "over two hours" is decreasing.
