For infants and children prior to entering elementary school who require daycare

*3 Early Childhood Education and Care centers (ECEC centers: nintei kodomo en) (Jurisdiction: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare)
For infants and children prior to entering elementary school
* Instituted in 2006 as a facility that supports child-rearing in the local community by providing education and daycare services to preschool children
