The theme of the Fourth Conference of the Japanese Society of Child Science was "Children, Evolution, and Brain Science: The Life Sciences and Child Science." How do the cutting-edge perspectives of evolution and the life sciences view children and deal with diverse child-related problems?

On the 15th, Professor Mariko Hasegawa, Graduate University for Advanced Studies (SOKENDAI), gave a lecture on "The Uniqueness of Human Children from the Perspective of Evolution." On the 16th, Hideaki Kobayashi, Hitachi Ltd., delivered a lecture on "Child Education from the Perspective of Brain Science." David Sprague, senior researcher of National Institute for Agro-Environmental Sciences, and Assistant Professor Noriko Nakamura, Showa Women's University co-chaired a session on "Evolution and Children," and Hideki Suzuki, Keio Gijuku Yochisha Primary School, gave a presentation on sound explorer. Keizo Kutsuna, Curator, Meiji University Museum, delivered a special lecture on the Jomon era.
