Schooling 2001 aims to improve student learning outcomes through integrating computers in the curriculum and bringing world-wide information resources to Queensland state school classrooms. The Schooling 2001 Project encompasses a wide range of smaller projects. These are organised into five programs, each addressing a specific goal.
Technology Infrastructure 1997-98:$19.578m, to: Establish flexible and challenging learning environments which maximise student and teacher access to information and communication technologies.
Staff Development 1997-98:$6.717m to: Develop and maintain the information technology (IT) competencies of staff and the application of these competencies to effective learning and teaching in all key learning areas, P-12.
Quality Software 1997-98: $1.25m : Provide students and teachers with access to: a comprehensive range of quality educational software programs; on-line curriculum resources and information across all key learning areas.
Learning Outcomes 1997-98:$0.02m: Develop and apply assessment instruments and processes to determine the extent to which students improve their levels of achievement through the use of learning technology.
Marketing 1997-98: $0.035m: Promote awareness of, and commitment to, the role of worldwide information resources in maximising student learning outcomes among teachers, administrators, senior officers and the wider community.
