Emerging Issues for Australian children in an educational context include
teacher confidence in using new technologies, multimedia in the classroom
quality access to the Internet for all schools, particularly those in the country areas. Distance from urban centres is a major issue, for example, the distance to drive from Adelaide to Aboriginal schools in the Homelands in the centre of Australia ie near Ayers Rock is around 1000 kilometres which takes you through desert landscape, often on unsealed roads.
the provision of appropriate and relevant curriculum resources to support teachers
