Yes, Hillel, I think we need better models of what it's like to combine learning with working and this sense of curiosity, playfulness, excitement. For instance, our staff just judged websites in education for some web awards here, and I found one, the Library of Congress one here, which has a National Digital Library, making the same papers, photographs, letters, maps available that you would see if you were in the Library in Washington, DC. I found an exhibit on Alexander Graham Bell, about whom I knew little, but in just 15 minutes, I learned so much about him, that he came from Scotland, that he taught deaf children, that he also invented a high-speed hydrofoil, what an exciting individual he was! It was a good example for me of learning some content, enjoying the process, esp. because I got to see real pictires of him and his family, read letters he wrote to his wife.
