Annual Report of Child Research Net FY2003 Published in English and Japanese
Noboru Kobayashi, Director

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Child Research Net (CRN) now enters its ninth year since it was inaugurated as a cyber-institute for child research.

With each passing year, CRN has continued to expand. We owe this ongoing growth not only to the participation of researchers and specialists in education, childcare, child development, psychology, pediatrics and a number of other fields, but also to the support of many parents and guardians. We are deeply grateful for this support, which has always been encouraging and stimulating.

We published our annual report that chronicles our activities in FY2003. We anticipate another exciting year full of activities, and we hope that you will let others who are concerned about child-related issues know about CRN. As a forum for these issues, we welcome information, reports, and papers on child rearing childcare, and education. We would also be very happy if your organization would consider maintaining mutual links on our respective websites and if you could introduce us to other sites that might be interested.

We are working to make the 21st century the "Century of the Child," and we look forward to cooperating with you in making a contribution to the welfare of children all over the world. We hope that you will graciously lend your support and guidance to CRN in the coming year as well.

If you would like a copy of the report, please contact us at Questions and Comments to CRN and include your name, mailing address, and the number of reports you would.
