"Lolita" Fashion

Lolita fashion is one of Japanese girls' fashions. They call that fashion style "Lolita".

BLOUSE, CUT & SEWN

Most blouses have big collar, a lot of frills, and ribbons.
The color is white or black (sometimes, pink or patterned), and most short sleeved blouses have puffy sleeves.

SKIRT, JUMPER SKIRT

Most skirts are over-knee length and baggy.
Lolita girls wear a pannier and drawers under their skirt to make it swell out.
This skirt pattern is "Alice".

SHOES, SOCKS

Most Lolita girls like to wear strap shoes or platform boots. As for socks, knee socks and over-knee socks (and tights) are popular.

BAG, ACCESSORIES

For the design, a royal crown, ribbons, cards, fruits, animals, and roses are liked.
These designs are liked not only for bags and accessories but also for most Lolita clothes.

  Lolita fashion is one of Japanese girls' fashion styles. However, some women like this style, too. Lolita fashion means a decorative and girlish style, and regards "CUTE", and "PRETTY" as important concepts. For example, motifs from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", "Snow White" and "Cinderella".
  Lolita fashion is really popular with some people. But this style is showy and is apt to be confused with some animation costumes. So some of people hate it. Lolita fashion doesn't have a clear definition or model. There many Lolita girls, and everyone has her own ideal and opinion about Lolita style.
  I think it is important to wear your favorite clothes. Fashion is the simplest way to express yourself. For example, expressing yourself with your choice in jeans, skirt, shirt or T-shirt. There are many styles: girlish style, boyish style, casual, formal, and so on. Fashion has many styles, and you can choose your own. Wearing your favorite clothes makes you happy!
