Playshop encourages meaningful learning through a design made up of the following key components: engagement, improvisation, creation, communication and reflection. Playful design bridges different generations, heightens feelings of togetherness and encourages collaborative experiences. Such learning requires a designing spirit to cultivate abilities and aptitudes with a warm hands-on approach in the way that a child makes a mud pie. Playful design stimulates spontaneous, creative activity.
In Playshop, participants create what is meaningful for them as individuals rather than simply accepting what is meaningful for others. As they make their own toys and tools, they learn how to overcome difficulties with a playful spirit and broaden their horizons.
"Nagayama Chi-kichi" receives the support and co-operation of the Tama City Board of Education.
